Museum of the American Revolution Announces Hiring of Michael Viteo as Chief of Security
PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 4, 2016 — The Museum of the American Revolution today announced the hiring of Michael Viteo as Chief of Security. Viteo is a seasoned public safety professional with more than 35 years of experience with the Philadelphia Police Department.
Most recently, Viteo provided security at Jack M. Barrach Hebrew Academy in Bryn Mawr, Pa., through U.S. Security Care. Prior to that he worked as a special events coordinator for the Philadelphia Police Department beginning in 1995, which included managing security for high-profile events such as Pope Francis’ visit to Philadelphia in 2015. He previously served in patrol as a police officer with the Philadelphia Police Department since 1980.
In his new role, Viteo will provide leadership and management of all aspects of security functions at the Museum, including the development and implementation of comprehensive security, health and safety, emergency preparedness and fire prevention policies and programs.

Viteo’s previous professional experience also includes security and operations for Prodigy Learning Center in Philadelphia. He graduated from the Philadelphia Police Academy in 1980.
