Pre-Revolutionary War Drum

This rare American-made military drum  dates to 1740. Believed to be the second oldest dated American drum in existence, it is inscribed with the name of its maker, Robert Crosman of Taunton, Massachusetts. We will display it in the new Museum among a group of objects illustrating the military equipment of New Englanders early in the conflict.
