Debating Independence: A Historical Simulation for Students

This program is FREE for students. Student groups will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested teachers should contact Adrienne Whaley at AWHALEY@AMREVMUSEUM.ORG

Participating teachers must complete both a pre- and post-simulation survey in order to help us measure student impact. 

Was American independence from Britain inevitable in the 18th Century? In this full-day historical simulation, high school students are invited to step into the shoes of the Second Continental Congress and will debate the issues that may – or may not – lead to a momentous decision.
